A Picture is Worth a Thousand Words
Each day as I look through hundreds of listings on the OKC MLS the photos never cease to amaze me. I see Aunt Betty poking her head around the corner, Realtors taking pictures of themselves in the mirror, last nights dinner still sitting on the counter top, laundry on the floor, chochkties everywhere. People, do you really want to sell your house? And, what was the hiring criteria for your Realtor? Holy moly.

Innovator Award: Best Use of Green Resources
I got a call from OKCMAR a couple of weeks ago saying that I had won an award from their GENext Committee. Then they told me I needed to come in for an on camera interview four days before my wedding. I mean, hey, I didn’t have anything else going on so off I went. They presented the awards and videos today at the Member Conference but I am in Italy so I couldn’t quite make the ceremony. I am pretty sure I still got the good end of the deal…………….and thank you to those of you who nominated/voted for me!
Home Buyer Credit Extended and Expanded
On November 6, 2009 new legislation was signed into law extending the existing First Time Buyer Tax Credit and expanding it to include existing homeowners. Let me explain a little bit about changes made to the existing credit first:
What is the MLS?
MLS stands for Multiple Listings Service. The OKC MLS is a site that Realtors subscribe to and communicate through. Through membership at their local board (OKCMAR), Realtors are able to post their new listings and immediately following all other Realtors are able to see the new listings. The public typically sees this updated information within 24 hours through public sites but it completely depends on which sites they search. Not all information online is accurate or timely.
