Marketing Your Real Estate Listing

When it comes to selling your home where do you turn for marketing exposure? Flyers, newspapers, online classifieds? Often times I see bummed out “For Sale By Owners” filling their flyer box daily, wondering why they have only received one call from 75 flyers. While I do believe flyers and print ads have a place in marketing your home, I think there is a more effective ways to market your home…and the best part? It is also a more sustainable option.
78% of the population owns a computer. In the age of communication where the information superhighway is a mere click away, the Internet proves an effective means to get your listing out in front of tens of thousands of people instantly!

I have some tried and true favorites as well as some up and coming, haven’t quite caught on in Oklahoma sites that I use to market my listings. I like to Google search phrases like “OKC Homes For Sale” or “Oklahoma City Real Estate” to see which sites come up first. This is how I determine where I should focus my marketing energy. Diversity in the types of sites you use is a good thing. Some people spend a lot of time on Craig’s List while others focus mainly on the MLS driven Realtor.com. Diversifying your selection will ensure visibility to a wide array of folks. Another key point that I cannot stress enough – you need to update your information. I update weekly (at a minimum) or as listing information changes.
